Young people and adults from N-gage and GDAFS have taken part in this year’s Mike Parry Art Award Competition, created in memory of Mike Parry — a support worker for Barod and artist who inspired many through his passion and creativity.
Geocaching is an exciting outdoor treasure hunt where participants use GPS to find hidden “geocachers” placed in specific locations. It’s a great way to explore the outdoors, build teamwork, and spark curiosity.
As we made our way through the park, we also took a moment to slow down and enjoy some mindfulness, soaking up the sunshine and appreciating the blossom trees in full bloom. Each young person who took part went home with a well-deserved Easter egg.
Thank you to everyone who came along – we’re already looking forward to our next event!
This year’s theme, ‘FUTURE’, sparked some brilliant entries, exploring everything from personal recovery journeys and new beginnings to bold ideas about what the future could look like.
With up to £100 in vouchers up for grabs and categories for Young People, Adults, and Groups, the competition is a fantastic way to celebrate self-expression and the power of art.
A big well done to everyone who got involved — your work is inspiring and a great tribute to Mike’s legacy. Here are some of our service user’s entries:
