During the October half-term, the Activities & Wellbeing team organised two exciting outings for the young people in our service.
Participants had a blast navigating the treetop challenges at Go Ape! in Margam Park and embracing the seasonal spirit with an evening of pumpkin picking in Abergavenny.
Go Ape!
Our group of service users from GDAFS and N-gage impressed everyone with their teamwork and determination as they tackled multiple treetop swings, cheering each other on every step of the way. Everyone who completed the challenge received a well-earned certificate to celebrate their bravery and achievements. Well done all!
Pumpkin picking
During our pumpkin-picking event, the young people had a fantastic time selecting their own pumpkins to carve at home. They also explored the eerie corn mazes, picking fresh corn straight from the stems and navigating their way back while spotting a few creepy scarecrows along the way. The day ended on a cozy note with hot chocolate and a sweet treat—a perfect finish to a fun-filled, autumnal afternoon.
The feedback from both groups was overwhelmingly positive, with everyone sharing how much they enjoyed the experiences. We’re already looking ahead to our upcoming events, starting with a magical trip to Newport Winter Wonderland on December 18th—perfect for getting into the festive spirit!
